The Global Access Program (GAP) can cover some of the costs associated with these trips. GAP is administered by the Pennsylvania Office of International Business Development (OIBD) and provides up to $10,000 per award period to qualifying Pennsylvania companies to reimburse 75% of eligible expenses associated with specific export promotion activities.” We are happy to connect you with this program.

Ag/FoodTech Trip  2023

Postponed due to current events | Israel

This trip across the food system is part of the Sector Exchange Network.

 

We’ll gather in Tel Aviv during Israel’s Agrifood Week. Over 4,000 international visitors will be in attendance to connect and enrich the vibrant Israeli Agro/FoodTech ecosystem. The focus will be on creating ROI and catalyzing opportunities to meet future partners. Our lens will be on opportunities for regional stakeholders from PA, NJ and DE. 

 

The trip is for specific stakeholders in these areas: growing and farming; food research, processing and production, food-entrepreneurs; government and policy officials; researchers and academics; energy companies focused on Ag; and investors. The maximum group size is 15.

Day 0

Introductions. We'll hold a planning session in October with group introductions and a pre-trip briefing.

Day 1

Sderot new Agriculture NatureGrowth Innovation Center. We will learn about the agriculture ecosystem built in Sderot, have presentations of portfolio early stage agtech companies, have a tour to visit Agtech Initiatives in the Sderot Vicinity, listen to a lecture about "The Agtech Decade - The Israeli Mission to Zero Hunger" with Ecosystem, Industry, and Academic Professionals. We end with a Cocktail Party with dignitaries and tasting of Western Negev wines and local produce.

Day 2

Attend the Agrivest ConferenceLast year, Agrivest brought 1000+ participates, 40% global representation from 35 countries and 80 Israeli startups presenting.

Day 3

Attend the FoodTech IL Summit. Israel’s largest food tech conference & startup expo. The summit expects 3000+ attendees from all over the world, 75 innovative Israeli startups. Prior to the event it will be possible to set 1:1 meeting with companies through the B2B platform. 

Day 4

BARD + Volcani + JVP Galil visits. We will start with meeting the BARD Executive Director and learn about the program and the opportunities of a mutual research. Then, we will meet with Volcani, an NGO who works to end food and nutrition insecurity across the world by building bridges between local partners and Israel's leading experts to create life-changing agricultural solutions together. Lastly, we will meet the JVP team, learn about their practices to generate an effective ecosystem, meet portfolio companies, and learn about the Experiment Farm that allows startups to experiment their innovation.

Day 5

Tour Jerusalem. Visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Cristian Quarter, the Arab Market, the Cardo, the Jewish Quarter, and the Western Wall. Lunch at the Foreign Ministry offices. Lecture and discussion from senior staff at the Israel Innovation Authority.
